Welcome to our Garden Blog!

Easter Home Learning

Create your own Spring Garden

To celebrate Easter and Spring, we are inviting the children to create their own miniature garden. You can use any container e.g shoe box, tray or empty sweet tin. Be as creative and imaginative as you can. Create your garden over the next few weeks and send a photo of your progress or finished product to our wow moments email. Your photos will be featured here on our Garden Blog where you get to see everyone’s gardens and comment on their amazing work.

1. Research

What can you see in this garden? Research different features of gardens online using a kids search engine such as kiddle or take a virtual tour of garden such as this one at Kew.

2. Plan

Plan your garden by drawing a picture and listing the objects you might need. What objects do you have at home that you could adapt and include in your garden?

3. Create

Using a tray or a box create your spring garden. You could draw and cut out different plants and flowers. You could include real plants or leaves from your garden/ the park. More advice can be found on the RHS website.

4. Finishing Touches

Can you add any labels to your spring garden. Can you present it to your family or siblings explaining how you made it and what’s inside? Make sure to take a photo of your finished garden and send it to:   wowmoments@pelham.merton.sch.uk
