Because sometimes he might be trying to be kind to Zoe but other times he might be tough or try to threaten or scare her because of something she said or did.
Dooby is complex because he sort it saved Eels island but he doesn’t really care about anyone but himself. He is also keeping Zoe hostage and will escape with her and leave his ‘friends’ behind. This is an excellent example of Dooby being selfish.
Because he just killed his best friend then we realise it’s not his best friend and he can’t swim because the boat has left him and Zoe and munchkin are scared
