Mental Health Awareness Week
I found this great video on the Reception home-learning page. It perfectly fits with the theme of Kindness from this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week. It also fits in with our discussions about how an act of kindness benefits the giver just as much as the receiver.
Check it out:
Home Learning
Well done to Louie for sending in the above piece of writing. You have clearly spent a long time composing and editing this piece of writing. You have used a vide variety of genre appropriate language and have used lots of adjectives for description to enable us to fully engage with the text. I loved reading about the foxes in your garden!
Watch the following videos of the foxes feeding and playing in Louie’s garden.
Thanks Louie!
Maths Challenge
The Insurance Salesman
An insurance salesman walk up to house and knocks on the door. A woman answers, and he asks her how many children she has and how old they are. She says I will give you a hint. If you multiply the 3 children’s ages, you get 36. He says this is not enough information. So she gives a him 2nd hint. If you add up the children’s ages, the sum is the number on the house next door. He goes next door and looks at the house number and says this is still not enough information. So she says she’ll give him one last hint which is that her oldest of the 3 children plays the piano.
Mental Health Awareness Week
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme this year is Kindness.
Please watch the above video; I like how it highlights how being kind to others actually improves your own mental health.
Can you give examples of how you have shown kindness to somebody recently?
