Christmas fun
After a full term of working really hard, yesterday it began to feel as if Christmas really is just around the corner. After watching the Year 5 Carol Concert dress rehearsal, we made Pelham smell deliciously seasonal as we had lots of sticky fun making some Excitable Edgar biscuits. Even us adults enjoyed ourselves!
Rocksteady
Here are just a few images from this term’s concert by some of our Y6 Rocksteady crew. What a fabulous concert – such a lovely way to showcase all your hardwork. Well done!
Wow, look at our professional information leaflets!
Owls, as you know, I am absolutely delighted with the fantastic information leaflets you produced that compare a mountainous region in the UK with one in Italy. You clearly really thought about what information you wanted to include and how you wanted to present it; not only was it easy to compare the different regions, but your presentation was to the highest standard. Our exhibition yesterday has persuaded ed me to make sure that the rest of the school has an opportunity to admire and be inspired by these projects – I will try to make sure that a we have a pop-up display somewhere in school in the new year. Well done everybody!
More maths…
A train starts running from Leeds to York at 7am.
The last train leaves at midnight.
Platform 1 has a train leaving from it every 12 minutes.
Platform 2 has one leaving from it every 5 minutes.
How many times in the day would there be a train leaving from both platforms at the same time?
Here is today’s problem solving question, as promised… good luck all…
Factor pairs & problem solving
Here it is, the maths problem solving question from today that we didn’t have time for. There might be raffle ticket up for grabs…
No one is too small to make a difference
In assembly today, we looked at the difference Greta Thunberg has made to global discussions about the environment, despite the fact that she started protesting when she was just 15 years old. I want to know what YOU are doing to help tackle the climate crisis we find ourselves facing.
