Studying the impact of tourism

Year 6 have been learning about the impact of tourism in our Geography lessons.  We have learned that tourism can have both a positive and negative impact of a geographical environment.  These impacts can be sub-divided into economic impact, social impact and environmental impact.  We creatively demonstrated our understanding of this by linking it to our work on mountainous regions in the UK and Europe.

Our vibrant information posters can currently be seen in some of the pop-up displays in Pelham’s stairwells – click on the link below to view Owls’ posters.  We hope you enjoy!

Wow, look at our professional information leaflets!

Owls, as you know, I am absolutely delighted with the fantastic information leaflets you produced that compare a mountainous region in the UK with one in Italy.  You clearly really thought about what information you wanted to include and how you wanted to present it; not only was it easy to compare the different regions, but your presentation was to the highest standard. Our exhibition yesterday has persuaded ed me to make sure that the rest of the school has an opportunity to admire and be inspired by these projects – I will try to make sure that a we have a pop-up display somewhere in school in the new year.  Well done everybody!
