Factor pairs & problem solving

Here it is, the maths problem solving question from today that we didn’t have time for.    There might be raffle ticket up for grabs…

To the first question the answer is 40cm long you have to find a number that divides into both of them and I think the answer to the second question depends because if he’s sharing them he would have one so he could have have 31 friends but if he was just giving them he would have 32 friends I think it’s a bit of a trick question but I don’t know is the answer to the first question correct and possibly the second question. Do I get a raffle ticket???? Pls reply

  2. 1. They could be (long list coming up): 1cm; 2cm; 4cm; 5cm; 8cm; 10cm; 20cm or 40cm long. We did these a few days ago too.

    2.He could have (another long list, not a long though): 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32 friends.
