I think that this is true because the best things in life aren’t super fancy cars or gigantic houses or First class on an aeroplane, the best things are things like love and friendship and smiles, laughter, good memories. You don’t have to pay for those things, they just come for free 🙂
I think that’s true because you don’t need a private jet and a private estate to be happy! Those are unnecessary expenses and yes they may make you ‘happy’ for a while but not for long, as when they get damaged they’re gone. Family and friends and joyful memories, which are what everyone needs, stay forever unlike an object. Also, even some rich people say ‘Just because I’m rich doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy free things’.
Things you can buy with tonnes of money could also make you happy though because you’re not just payed for living instead you need to earn it so that may make some people feel like they’ve accomplished something good and they’ve been successful.
Being loved makes people feel happy, and for example, a rich person might be very depressed but people might assume that they are happy as they have heaps of money, when actually they might just want to be loved, and might not want to be rich.
