  1. Gosh, well done Owls, these front covers are very atmospheric. I would certainly pick these books up from the shelf in Waterstones! Incidentally, I read a really interesting article about book cover design and it stated that the one of the most important things to remember is the genre of your book and look at the covers of other books in that genre. If you go too ‘out there’ with your design, your book won’t attract the target audience and won’t sell.

Always important to do your research!

  2. I like Aurora’s shading/ smudging.
    I like Oliver’s owl.
I like Sarah’s clouds for some reason.
    I just have a question,
Why does my name have 3 dots next to it?

    • Good questions Mina – it’s entirely down to a combination of a technical glitch and a lack of consistency on my part… I’ll try to do better next time (but in my defence, just as many of you are doubtless finding home-learning challenging on occasion, so are us teachers!)…

    • Hi Grace, thanks for commenting on Owls’ blog, it’s lovely to hear from you and to hear you giving supportive feedback. If you let me know which house you are in, I’ll give you a house point which I can either add to my class’ weekly tally or you can let Mr. Burns know – your choice!
