    Refraction is the change in direction of a wave of light passing from one object to another. How much a wave is refracted is determined by the change in wave speed and the initial direction of wave relative to the direction of change in speed.

    Refraction is when light hits a transparent object (for example a glass) and slows down, as glass is a denser object than air. The rays will appear to bend, and this is called refraction.
