This book is very interesting.
Grandpa is very mysterious. We are very intrigued by this story, and so worried about Grandpa’s dementia.
It is a very good book, and exciting as well. We can’t wait to read some more! π
I don’t like the book very much. I find I don’t really feel for the characters and I think you supposed to feel for Alex.
We don’t agree. We think that the book is very entreating because we want to know what happens in the story and it sometimes ends in a cliff hanger.
We are also worried about Lenard telling dad that Alex punched him, and that grandpa burnt his pillowcase. ;(
It is very griping and exiting and my favourite character is Grandad.
I never knew that grandpa could see ghosts i think because he keep seeing dead people / animals. My favourite character is Lennard because he a nice cruel affect

The scene when grandpa tried to pick out three sticks of the same colour was particularly
intense because grandpa would show his forgetfulness if he didn’t manage his task. We let out a big sigh of relief when he succeeded!

Because..
Who is Samuel Thomas Smith? What do you guys think?
We think he is Tommy (Grandpa’s brother).
I am not really engaging in the story because I do not like the fact that we have read quiet a lot and nothing has really happened. I want more action in the story because i do not find it very boring. I like action books more than diary books. π π π π π π π π π π π π π
I think this book is decent because sometimes it can be boring in the story.I love Grandpa though because he’s a mysterious and exciting character to the book and his dementia makes it more tense about him leaving.
I have really enjoyed the memory cage so far its really interesting i want to finish it soon.I am wondering if Lenard is going to tell on Alex for punching him and granddad for setting his pillowcase on fire.
We think photos of Tommy’s murderer are kept in the attic and that Grandpa was forbidden to show them to the police because they didn’t believe him. We also think that Tommy’s murderer scraped out some of the writing on the gravestone.
The man in the photograph is the murderer.
Our FANTASTIC theory:
Y killed Tommy and Grandpa took a photograph Y. He took the photograph of Y to the police and told them that Y is a murderer. The police didn’t believe Grandpa and banned him from taking photographs of people.
I like the book because i like diary based books! π π π π π π π π π π π π π π π
Our FANTASTIC theory 2:
Grandpa burnt his pillowcase which had photographs of Tommy in it because he wanted to forget about him (survivor’s guilt).
We have especially liked the memory cage because it is written in first person and has flash back of Alex`s memories of the war in Bosnia we also like it because the author has used writing technique’s such as : similes and metaphores.
This story is great because it is quite sad but true.
I don’t know what you mean by saying it’s true because it’s a non-fiction book.
I have mixed feelings for this book because sometimes I loose focus because I am getting board by the lack of action but then something really interesting happens.
Δ°think its a realy good book because the writter is giving us a realy intresting text to read
