    If a=b+24 and a+b=100, exactly halfway between a and b is where 100/2=50 is. Half of 24=12, which means 50+12=a=62. So the card a has the number 62 on the back of it.

    This made me think, Ospreys! But I’ve got it! I like to make the bars from paper and fold them to help me.

  3. Yeseo says:

    I know from this that A+B is 100. From that, I can start with 50 and fifty, halves of 100. Then, I take twelve away from one and add twelve to one. 50-12=38. 50+12 is 62. To check, I can add those two. 38+62 IS one hundred. I know that A is bigger than B, so A must be 62.

    A is worth 62.

  4. Phoebe says:

    Well first I worked out the difference between the two cards( A and B) then I took 24-100 which is 76. So I think the value of card A is 76.

  5. Catherine says:

    I worked this out by thinking that 50+50=100.So then I simply subtracted 12 from 50 (38) and added 12 to 50 (62) (because 12+12=24,which is the difference) and those are your answers. A =62 B=38.

  6. Ilaria :) says:

    I think that the value of A is 76 because 100-24= 76 and 76 + 24 = 100, also the problem says that the value of them together is 100. 😀

  7. Sophia says:

    Because A is larger than B and A+B=100.I think that A is 74 and B is 24 and 74 +24 =100.

  8. Ewen says:

    A+A=100+24
    A+A=124
    2A=124
    124/2=62
    A=62
    B=38
