Hi everybody, I hope you are all staying safe at home and being kind to your parents/carers/siblings! It was pretty weird at school yesterday without you guys. Although it was super quiet in the classroom which you all know is my favourite thing!
Mrs Watson and I spent a large portion of the day working on your home learning activities which are now live on the school website. We are trying our best to continue with the long-term curriculum planning that we had devised for you. We are still working things out so please stay patient. We understand that you all have different learning levels so if you find something too challenging on the Year 6 page, you can always find some learning you are comfortable with on the page of another Year Group. Conversely, we intend to provide additional challenge and more open-ended tasks in the coming days/weeks. Your suggestions are always welcome!
Let’s keep this blog as active as possible. I will try to post content and interact with you daily. Remember, although you are learning from home, the usual online etiquette applies. Also, we are in Year 6 so CHECK YOUR PUNCTUATION!
I look forward to hearing from you all.
Mr Burns 🙂
Yesssssssssssssss
Yes Mr Burns.
Hi Noam,
Good to hear from you. We missed you last week! If you have suggestions for the blog, let me know.
Like Ariel said in the suggestion box, I think we should put a thing we’re we can talk about our lives like we did in Mr Wooltons class last year!
I like this suggestion. Let’s do it!
How would we do it though?
We would put our hands up and then Mr Burns would choose people to talk about what ever they wanted to talk about that happed or is going to happen in our lives. Like mabye a comp that we did or mabye we have a upcoming event that we want to inform everyone about.
Mr Burns when you said you want us to read Skellig I went onto the hyperlink and opened it but it said the there is a bug on the website d might add a vires onto my laptop. what shall I do?
Hi Eleni,
That website should be safe. I just checked it on two different browsers. So long as you have up to date antivirus software on your computer, it should be fine.
sorry meant to say and instead of d
It is now fine but I cant find the right chapters.
Hi Eleni,
Just working on getting the page number for the start of chapter 35. I’ve sent Mrs Lyne on a mission and will report back as soon as possible.
The Skellig link won’t work for me, what should I do?
Try opening it in a different browser Elpida.
Mr Burns I can’t get on to the page 35 to 36, but I got on to the website.
There is only until page 11, well thats what it says.
Hi Taha,
Chapter 35 begins on the link for page 8 on the bookscool website. You have to scroll down the page a little before you get to chapters 36 and 36.
Hi Mr Burns. Are we meant to do the math on the PowerPoint or not? I didn’t but I’m just checking. I really miss you and all my friends and I’m hoping we can come back to school very soon.
Hi Phoebe,
I recommend doing both the questions on the powerpoint and on the worksheet if you have time. If you are struggling with one, use the visual representations on the powerpoint to help you. 60 to 90 mins is the maximum I would spend on daily maths.
I hope we can come back really soon too!
Keep up the great learning attitude.
Thanks Mr Burns!
For the guided reading from yesterday, are we supposed to do all the questions?
Hi Elpida.
Those questions are just prompts to help you.
If you like, you can write answers for a selection of them.
Thanks!
I didn’t understand and did the first 16 questions
Oh well done Elpida!
Mr burns I have a question, my mum got this math thing but it wasn’t on the Pelham website so she wanted to know if it was sent by you or not?
What Maths thing?
They only learning I have set is on the Year 6 page on the website and on the class blog.
Know I know what it is.
Now
Don’t worry Mr Burns i found the page.
Thanks anyway.
Sorry ‘I’ should have been like this.
Because some of you are so keen, I will hand over the copyright I have on “Irrelevant Information” to you Ospreys, just so long as I can comment in my usual “interested and caring way.”
Thank you Mr Woolton. I like the sound of this Irrelevant Information. Watch this space!
This is a question for tomorrow’s work. For the Skellig it says chapter 43 but yesterday(Tuesday) we had to read 34&35. And I’m a bit confused.
Hi Phoebe, my expectation is that you now use this time to read up to page 43.
In fact, if you have time, I encourage you to finish the book! 🙂
Ok thanks!
Mr. Burns, I can’t log into Linguascope for some reason and I’m pretty sure that I typed the login and password correctly. Do you know why this is happening?
It says that either I typed it in incorrectly or the subscription expired.
