Success Criteria for Diary Writing

We have begun looking at diary writing in our English lessons.

Make a list off all the features that I would expect to see in a high quality diary entry.

    There should be; informal vocabulary, posssibly slang or clichés, paragraphs, past tense, only including interesting facts, standard english, starting with dear diary (obviously) and the date/time.

    •parenthesis
    •the date at the top
    •expanded noun phrases
    •punctuation
    •introduction like dear diary
    I wasn’t in that particular lesson at the beginning when we did this so if I missed any out
    let me know!

    Informal language(cliches, slang, abbreviations).
    Past tense/first person.
    Start with ‘Dear Diary’.
    Date and time at the top.
    Standard English.
    No boring things.
    No ‘yours sincerely’.
